Student Affairs

The student body consists of Palestinian refugee female students who came from different parts of the West Bank and Gaza Strip in addition to Arab countries. Therefore, these students represent a homogeneous sector that come from similar socio-economic background.

Counseling Programme

The college provides social, psychological and educational counseling and guidance for all students. The counselor helps students who face academic or social problems during their presence at the college. Besides, she takes part in activating social events in the boarding section. RWTC has bested interest in providing vocational guidance for college students as well as preparatory and secondary school’s pupils, in the West Bank. Accordingly school girls are approached to visit the college to get acquainted with the training programmes and workshops held there.

To spread vocational awareness among students at an early stage, the college has prepared a documentary film which gives details about the college in terms of its training programs, specializations, nature of training, conditions of admission and so on. In addition to that, the counseling programme follows up graduates’ problems concerning employment and attempts t overcome these problems in coordination with the local establishments to find job opportunities for them.

Recreation

The college is involved in setting and implementing plans for physical, health, social and cultural activities that aim at shaping the personalities of the participants. It also attempts to promote sport teams for individual or group sports.

Moreover, it interacts with the local society through organizing sport championships that are held at the college in addition to getting engaged with championships that are held by other educational institutions. The Recreation programme also works on organizing various short educational courses for the students such as fire fighting, mother and child care, first did, maintenance, gender awareness, health education, folklore, art, management and civil education etc…

Voluntary Work

The college adopted the idea of voluntary work by the beginning of the scholastic year 1995/1996 as a graduation requirement. By this, the Educational Science student has to complete (100) hours of work as a requirement for graduation, whereas the vocational or technical student is required to cover (50) hours.

This programme aims at increasing the students; awareness to their community, enhancing team work and spirit, respecting manual work, and strengthening commitment to land. As such, the projects include: olive picking, irrigation and plantation, painting and fixing furniture, typing, lab, assisting and tutoring slow learners in the local community.

Student Council

The council is run by a committee called the “Secretary” that works under the council’s constitution and the rules and regulation of the college. It aims at creating an educated conscious community.

The students’ committees function under the umbrella of the council and include the educational, financial, art, sport and social voluntary work committees.

A bulletin is published by representatives of the college administration along with the students’ affairs.
